I am extremely happy to announce the names of those successful grading candidates who passed and promoted to next level. A special mention goes to Sam Karayiannis who achieved Shodan and Simon McCarthy who achieved 1st Kyu. Sam and Simon have been training with me for nearly a year having made the transition from another style to Okinawa Goju Ryu. They travel all the way from Lancing in West Sussex every Tuesday sometimes even on a Thursday, it gives me a great pleasure to be of some assistance to dedicated Karate-Ka. On the home front we have lots of promising youngsters coming through the ranks as well as some really dedicated seniors.

As you can see from the names published below we are growing! Dojo membership and the standards are increasing; I have noticed that as the grades are getting higher so is the enthusiasm of the students. I have said it many times before the “secret” is in the training, there is no magic to it. It is encouraging to see so many dedicated youngsters and adults, future is promising. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all mums and dads for their continuing support and solidarity which means a lot to me and finally to remind all students “The iron ore may think itself senselessly tortured in the furnace, but when the tempered blade of finest steel looks back it knows better” Lobsang T.
